Elements Checklist

We are Jira Data Center

Elements has announced its retirement of the Elements Checklist add-on. We use this add-on extensively. So far we have been unable to find a replacement that gives the same, or similar, features.

Our biggest usage is the ability for end users to add a values to a checklist item, not just check-off the box.

For example: A checklist item may be 'Test Kit Control Number'. The end user would then be able to enter the control number.

In addition, we have different checklists available depending on Issue status and multiple checklists per issue.

Looking for, and hoping the community can recommend, an add-on that may be able to fulfill our needs.

Thank you

Hi

Have you looked at Smart Checklist?

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1216451/smart-checklist-for-jira-pro?tab=overview&hosting=datacenter

It's less powerful but let you create and update checklist by default. There is also templates available and the way they store the data make it easier to alter using scriptrunner or maybe automation for Jira.

@Florian Bonniec

We did look at this add-on but could not find any way of setting variables in the checklists for users to add data to a checklist item. All they can do is check it as completed.

We need to be able to ask for information and have the end user supply the info, not just check the box.

Hi @Jeanne Howe ,

I'm from the team behind the Checklist for Jira app.

Effectively, Elements Checklist allowed users to add many columns to their Checklists. Unfortunately, to my knowledge, there are no comparable Checklist apps on the marketplace.

While we do not support what Elements Checklist was doing, Checklist for Jira allows the use of table markdown formatting. So you could use the table formatting in the item description (collapsible section). See below:

Some Elements Checklist customers already contacted us and we believe that, with our extensive APIs, you can indeed migrate the data to our format.

Moreover, we are looking into possibly creating an importer for the data so that we can automate the migration.

If you have more questions, feel free to contact our support team.

Hope that helps!
