Atlassian Team members are employees working across the company in a wide variety of roles.

Thanks @Luke Nickerson for the detailed feedback. I've shared this with the team and we are looking at some tweaks we can make. There are some changes rolling out at the moment that should also help. One of these is we will offer a View Settings where you can make specific fields hidden or visible on the card. We'll start with status, epic, and version and the idea is we'll extend this over time.We also plan to make the epic panel responsive on a smaller screen which should help in your situation. Thanks again for the feedback - this is invaluable in helping us provide the additional value without detracting from the old experience.

Hi @Bob Nesbitt - Thanks for following up here. I see the feedback you sent in but I can't recreate your scenario. The good news is are looking to retain feature parity with the old experience - so if something regarding estimation works with the enhancements toggled off, then it should work the same with the enhancements toggled on. Can I just ask you to double-check this is the case? And if there is a difference - it would be awesome if you could either record a short video and send it to eryan@atlassian.com, or alternatively we could meet on Zoom https://calendly.com/eoinryan/30min
@Eoin thank you for the response. Please allow us to opt out or have a toggle so we can stay the way we are.
I am so frustrated at having to fix things as each time you fix something you stuff up Jira so I have to spend valuable time sorting it out and I actually have a real day job.
Tools should function without the constant battle we have with the features for the few but don’t work for the many.
Like others above they don’t work for us as the slowness and memory used, makes it impossible to use on the agile calls.
I agree with and have experienced everything that @Patrick Nelson has so kindly explained and in a better way than I can.
Issues lately the fiasco with the permissions, kept me busy sorting out why many had access removed and some projects had limited permissions.
The fix that put us all back on the ridiculous horizontal scroll bar which enlarged issue icons where many could see maximum of 2 columns. That took a day for the Atlassian support to sort out and hopefully we never get back. We don’t have boards that require this terrible feature as don’t have more than 8 statuses on a board.
Please as we have asked many times have a toggle so those of us can keep this abomination from our screens.
If only you included features that we need like bulk clone which is standard on other tools.
We are paying for this service so we do have options to move if it gets worse.
I have noticed that the enhanced board does not allow the use of the search functionality in the browser.
In chrome you can select Alt E, F and then type a selection.
If you use the Jira search functionality, then only the searched task becomes visible (other tasks are removed)
If you need to sort a long list of items on the backlog then you actually want to be able to navigate to that item on the backlog, so that you can move/reprioritise the item in the list.
There is no way of doing this without the browser search.
Do we know if we will still be able to switch off the enhanced board after 25 October?
Why are simple things always changed? To add a fix version or epic to a ticket in the backlog was simple now there are three or four clicks extra until you find the shortcuts!
@Gary Davidson there will be nothing reason other than to do something that the few think important. I am sure @Eoin will provide the reason for the new slower boards and features as we call defects in testing. 🤔
Shame the invaluable clone multiple issues is only available when you pay thousands more
Is it possible with the enhanced view to have epic shown in the backlog not in the epic panel or the epic filter. The little green check in column management seems to have completely disappear
Searching for tickets with Ctrl-F still is not working and becoming a problem as I have to keep switching back and forth between old and enhanced backlog. Is there another workaround and when will this be fixed?
When I use CSV import I cannot select Status as a Jira field to map to a column in my CSV. Presumably this will force all my incoming ideas to start at the first step in my workflow. Is this current behaviour and can you offer suggestions on how I can have imported ideas automatically go to a different status in my workflow?

Hi @Marc-A _Nimbax_ - we've changed the toggle into a radio select with clearer information on what this feature does. Let us know if you still don't see this...

Hi @Kyle Mitchell we're rolling out a change when you clear the search filter, we'll keep focus on the top most selected issue. This should be out by the end of the week, and although it's not a replacement for the browser find feature that scanned all the issues on the old backlog and board, we'll validate whether it satisfies the majority of the need. We're also investing in better ways to find work more broadly in Jira over the coming 6 months.

Hi @Steve_G Yep it should - let us know if you aren't seeing this. For example, the mark as done button will no longer be available on the epic panel. Thanks

Hi @Gary Davidson - easiest way is to hit 'e' to open epic panel and 'v' to open the version panel. Epics are no longer a special case in Jira - they now behave like any other issue and are formalised into a true parent/child hierarchy. This means there is no longer an epic status which is distinct from the status you would see when you open the epic in the issue view - there is now just the issue status. So to close the epic - you use the issue status. Thanks

Hi @Patrick Nelson Thanks for the detailed feedback! I've shared the information on performance with the team but it's best if you could also raise a support ticket for the loss in performance on your site at https://support.atlassian.com It's possible this could be coming from some combination of your board filter, the data, and/or board configuration - and support will be able to take a closer look and help us find where the root cause is, so we can look to resolve it. Thanks

In the backlog view of a scrum board, we create future sprints for the upcoming quarter to plan the work in the quarter. You were able to select one or more items, right click, select move, and move them to a future sprint. I have tried this on the enhanced board view without success. I don't have the right menu. I see the three ellipsis on the right yet when I click the ellipsis go away.
How can you multi-select items from the backlog and move them to a specific named sprint without dragging it? This is a feature that all our teams use.
That might help and would be a worthwhile change; it's more intuitive for that to be the case (i.e. the selection to be persisted), even in the current old version of the board
Re: Performance
I didn't have any filters enabled at all (on purpose; I wanted as many tickets on the board as possible for my comparison). To be fair (and brutally honest); as an end user who is totally happy with it as-is, it feels like a bit of a burden shift, particularly on the time/effort that'll be required for me to go in, test/debug, show data, screenshots and answer back/forth to address a change that I didn't really ask for.
It's not a huge deal on its own. It's just frustrating when this same process is happening across the board to all sorts of apps we use from many other companies. And don't get me wrong, the issue isn't with change per se. It's the regressions, reduction or even complete in functionality that causes this sort of frustration.
Another example of this was in the flat UI fad with everything having reduced contrast and with overall much more neutral and reduced colors. It's aesthetically pleasing at first glance but its reduced contrast just makes it harder to visually parse. The new Jira interface has this issue (slightly) but this wasn't anywhere close significant enough for me to raise in light of the other more serious issues I started out with.
I'll look out for the change to keep focus on the selected item when clearing filter - that may help thanks.
To clarify - the CSV Import I am referring to is the one for importing things into Jira Product Discovery which I access from the Create button in JPD. That conversation seems to be talking about more generic CSV Import into Jira. Or will going that route (via System Admin panel) work to import issues into JPD?
Is there a setting required on the board to be able to do the bulk update from the backlog? I can select multiple items in the backlog view on the new view. When I right click on the group of items selected, nothing displays. When I have multiple items selected, go to the right to view ellipsis, the actions menu does not display.
Hello, with that switch on ("Enhance my board and backlog") we are seeing a lot of substasks that have closed parents, meanwhile in the old version i can't see them. Any ideia of what is happening ? @neio
