When trying to filter records in Jira work management, list or timeline view, I cannot filter by the custom field that is multi select checkbox. It doesn't appear as a custom filter option. Single Select Dropdown works but not check box.
The documentation says it should be possible. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-work-management/docs/find-the-information-you-need-with-filters/
The document says that it support multi-select, but it does not say that it support checkboxes for filtering. I suspect that when it says "multi-select" it is talking about a Selection List, not a Checkbox, custom field.
hi @Trudy Claspill and @Hannes Obweger - JXL for Jira
Thanks for your help, I've managed to get it working now using the selection list rather than the check box however I had to get this sorted with my full Jira admin colleague since we weren't able to create a selection list within the Jira Work Management project directly (only custom option there is the checkbox option).
Would be good to get the documentation updated to mention multi selects via selection lists not checkboxes which most people would jump to first if purely in jira work management.
Thanks again!

welcome to the community!
I just tried this on my Jira site and it indeed appears as if you can't currently filter by Checkbox custom fields. I'd expect this to be fixed as some point, but am not aware of any concrete plans.

... and just to add to the above: If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, this would work as expected in the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira:
For context, JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. In a sense, it has a few things in common with JWM's list view, however it comes with a range of advanced features, and also works in (and across!) projects of any type, not just JWM projects. Plus, checkbox filtering works as expected!
(Unfortunately, it wouldn't currently help you with the timeline view, although a timeline feature is something we plan to add at some point in the future.)
Any questions just let me know!
