Good news for everyone, nested subtasks on the timeline should now be visible for all users. To see them you will need to "expand" the task that has associated subtasks. If you're not seeing this feature, please submit this as a bug via the "Give feedback" option and we'll look into it.

Is there a way the Epics, their tasks and subtasks get nested together?

can anyone confirm, this feature is still available in 2023? We can't make subtasks appear in the timeline feature.

Also really interested in this feature as it makes the timeline a more usefull tool for status-overview on ALL topics of the Epic

We switched meanwhile to the premium plan and the "advanced roadmaps" feature that actually includes subtasks into the timeline.

But these advanced roadmaps have several other severe drawbacks; wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Also it feels like a cheap cash grab to charge double the price per month and person just to see subtasks in a timeline.

2/10 not satisfied yet.

please make subtasks visible in normal timelines

Is "advanced roadmaps" a feature that needs to be activated?

Agree, MS Project is way more potent when it comes to visualizing ALL topics. Still Jira is kinda more visually pleasing...

Displaying subtask is supported in Jira Work Management (which this post refers to).

However it is not supported in Jira Software Project Timeline (formerly roadmap). You can follow and upvote the feature request for subtask drilldown.

Hi Bob - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

This is not available right now for JWM projects. But I hear that it should be coming in the next couple of weeks.

Advanced Roadmap on DATACENTRE Version of JIRA Software seems to be better than on JIRA Cloud.
