When we set up a due date in the issue itself, the due date on the backlog dashboard shows 1 day earlier than the actual due date.

Testing on my local site, I was able to replicate the same issue.
I can see that you have only Jira Core on your site, so the issue is happening on a Business project.
This issue was reported as a bug and our dev team is already working on a fix:

Very strange - I would put in a support ticket with Atlassian:

It is on the free cloud service so I cannot submit any tickets, I can only use the community page.
