wildsearch for Components and fixVersions

Hi experts!

I am trying to make a search of all components like KBG1...KBG7 so I need something like Component in ("KBG?"). Same for Version.

But when I try to do something like ~ "wil*" I was told that the field doesn't support that syntax. Please help to elaborate the case.
