what's proper procedure for Kanban "done" column

I'm new to Agile Kanban teams. As it is now, my Done column is mapped to Closed issues so it's showing all issues, including previous releases. Is there some procedue here I'm missing to make the closed column only show issues that haven't been released?

or, do I just do one big release and it rights the ship?
