subtask not visible in the board

Hi all

The subtask is not visible in the board. Only the story is. 

We would like to write the story and break it down to subtask which could be executed by teammember(s) 

The process would be:

1. Write the story in the backlog
2. When the story is on top of the backlog it will be pulled to a sprint, and broken down to subtask 
3. Subtasks will be estimated 
4. Every subtask will be assigned to a teammember (the same or different)

How can this be implemented ?

is Jira meant to work in another way ?

welcome to the Atlassian community!

First of all please check the board filter in order to figure out if it keeps subtasks.

You can do that as JIRA Project Admin/Board Admin (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/configure-filters/)

Hi @Christian Sestito welcome to the community.  As mentioned by @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_ to see sub-tasks in your board ensure that they are included in your board filter.  Another way to see sub-tasks on a board is to set your swimlanes by Story.  As for the backlog when new tickets are created they are added to the top of the backlog, I would suggest you review the docs on Ranking.
