Hi G,
Sorry to hear that you are seeing this error.  But the fact that you see this could be caused by lots of different potential configurations in JIRA.   This kind of JavaScript error is known to be caused by any of the following:

• User-installed plugins
• Script in the instance (announcement banner or issue fields)
• Environmental configuration (Proxy/SSL)

In order for us to troubleshoot this further, could you please try to answer the following:

1. When did it start happening? Did it ever work fine before?
2. What changes were made prior to the problem?
3. Is it reproducible in all browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox) using normal and incognito/private browsing modes?
4. Is it affecting all users or some users?
5. Could you enable JIRA Safe Mode, to see if the same problem is still occurring? JIRA Safe mode will temporarily disable all user-installed plugins. Hence, you might want to schedule it during a maintenance window. This test will help us rule out if any of installed plugin causes this problem.
6. Is it reproducible on the instance after removing the announcement banner?

No announcement banner or issue fields

Environmental configuration: nginx with ssl configuration

1. It was start about 2 weeks ago. Before it 2 weeks all was fine.
2. A few times we are reconfigure projects
3. Only in Firefox, in Chrome all fine.
4. It's affecting only me (we are have about 6 users)
5.  It's no reproducible today, I don't try Safe mode

It is very strange to me that this would happen in Firefox, but not Chrome.   Is it possible to also test this in Safari or Internet Explorer?   I'm just curious to see which browsers might be a factor here and what versions of each browser you are using.  Perhaps there was update to Firefox around this time that might correspond to this change?    

I would also be interested to see if using the browser privacy mode in firefox affects this in anyway.   If you cannot reproduce this in firefox privacy mode, then I suspect there might be a browser extension or some other cookie/cached setting that might be causing this.

Safe mode in JIRA might still be a helpful test, it will tell us if this problem might be caused by a 3rd party plugin in JIRA.  Obviously you would need to make sure that the Agile/Software plugin is enabled, otherwise you likely won't have the functionality of the boards to begin with.

The other major way to test this would be to follow the guide How to bypass proxy/SSL configuration in JIRA to test network connectivity.  This guide would create a new connector to bypass your proxy/SSL configuration.  If you can connect to this separate connector in JIRA and still reproduce this, then I think we can safely rule out the proxy/SSL configuration as a potential cause of this error.

What was the cause/resolution of this error? I currently have a user getting the same thing in Chrome. Firefox is fine. So far, she is the only user affected.
