how to import project from local machine to jira

1 answer

Hi @lavanya pujari,

You can import the project and its issues using project import & export feature as a xml file.

Go to your local machine JIRA and backup the system

it will generate the zip format file as a backup.

Copy the xml zip file and relvant attachment into JIRA  import directory

Now go to your JIRA and choose the "project import" in system menu

Choose xml .zip file and it will process it before import

Once you fix the all validation, it will be imported into your JIRA

Above steps will work if your JIRA is on-premise instance and make sure your local and JIRA instance are in same versions
