how to convert a timesheet into a query

Pallavi Prasad November 8, 2017

Hi All,

I am trying to create a query which emulates the timesheet report but have run into some hassles. I am able to get the total time spent on the project but not for an individual developer / tester. Please help me with this.

PS: I am not allowed to use any of the plugins.

Thanks in advance

The reason timesheet add-ons exist is because you can't do this in Jira off-the-shelf.

Jira is issue-focussed, and there is time reporting in it, but you have to think in terms of issues rather than people.  Run JQL for any issues your user may have logged time on, then use the timetracking reports and you'll be able to see what the user has logged as a whole.  But it will be mixed in with all the other timelogs from other people who have worked on the issues.

For timesheets in Jira, you really do need either add-ons or to write your own external data extract.
