We have component/s system field used in project already for all issue types but for bug issue type we need 2 more options to be reflected in component/s with all already existing ones. Is it possible?

You can add components to the component list. If you are a project lead go to the cog and then to the Summary listing. Then go to components and add a the two new components.

when did you need the components added to the bug issue type?

write an automation rule to assign it to the bug issue type at the point you need it--e.g. at point of creation.

Hello @Lipika Singh,

I am part of the Decadis team and I would like to propose a solution using the post function Update field based on rules of our app Jira Workflow Toolbox.

With this post function, it is possible to update the components of the current issue based on another field value like, for instance, the issue type. In order to do so, the post function should be configured in a similar manner as in the below screenshots.

UpdateFieldBasedOnRulesEdit.pngPlease, note that it is necessary to replace the component names with the ones needed for your specific circumstances.

If you need more information about this or other implementations, please, do not hesitate to contact us in this thread or via our Support Service Desk or visit our documentation.

Best regards,

Vicente
