We have a form that we are trying to convert to Jira from 'share point'. this form has a field caller :Predecessors and it made of two separate boxes one has a list of available choices and the other is empty until you start to move from one to the other your choices of options.
How can we achieve the same format from Jira Cloud prospective.
Thanks
Hi Ray,
You can do that with the Select List (cascading) custom field type.
Or for a little more power, you can do that with the ProForma Forms add-on.
Adding to what @John Funk said, make note that "Select List (cascading)" fields are supported only in Company Managed projects, not in Team Managed projects.

Below is the field ‘Predecessors’ and we would like to mimic what Share Point is doing, by taking an option from the right box (now it’s empty) and moving it to the left side box. Or visa versa.
Would the answer you supplied to us will accomplish that, and if so, how do we define the options on the cascading field

As Daniel said, you can accomplish the field population with Automation for Jira. But you cannot change the list of values for one field based on the list of values in another field real time while in the screen. Cascading would do that, but it it limited to just two levels.

Hi @Ray Shekane
like Trudy und John said a custom field of type "Select List (cascading)" could be what you are looking for.
There was no screenshot attached but I will link you the documentation as well as a blog article where the field is explained more in detail.
I am not familiar with what Sharepoint was able to do with the field - helpful in many ways can be "Automation" which comes without additional cost in Jira Cloud. Assuming Sharepoint had some logic in it which you still want to have Automation could be worth having a look.
Anyway, a field of type "Select List (cascading)" is created within seconds - you could give it a test and if it does not meet the needs you can delete it, it is not a complicated thing.
Please check and let us know what you think about it.
Regards,
Daniel

Daniel,
Thank you for your suggestions I will look at Automation to see if it does accomplish our requirement.
I will also review the Doc for additional assistance.
Will keep you informed.
Thanks
