condition value field in workflow not working, inconduction with linked issuse

Hi

I am trying to create a condition in workflow, that will only allow the issue to transition to done, if the linked issue is set to duplicates

I have edited the workflow and created a condition value field

Field: Linked issue

Condition: equals

Value: duplicates

Comparison Type: string

But it will not let me transition any issues, I am not sure why it’s not working, I have not had any issues using conditions in workflow before.

So it will not let you transition issues that have the value of duplicates in the Linked issue field?

Does that mean there is no option available to Done at all? Or there is something else preventing it?

it will transition to Done perfectly without the condition (did this to test the work flow).

I added the condition and the option to transition to Done is no longer there.

i dont' have any other condtions that could prevent it from transitioning.

Can you share a screenshot of the condition in the workflow?

The transition with the problem is Duplicate Issue going from open to done.

Thanks for sharing that. I assume this is a Team-managed project?

And can you share a screenshot of an issue that meets the criteria above but you can't move it to Done?

Ah, I think I see it - the Linked Issues field is for an actual issue key like ABC-123. I think you are looking for the issueLinkType field, which I don't believe is available in the Value field condition. 

You will need an add-on such as JMWE or ScriptRunner to be able to do that.

Thats a shame that we can't implement it via the Value field condition.

I will have a look at JMWE  and ScriptRunner.
