change a project from classic project public to private project next generation

Monika Mainka October 14, 2019

Hello together,

ist it possible to change the classic project (public) to the next generation project (private).

I tried to set authorizations in the classic project, not everybody may see all project, but I fail... :-(

So now I thought, maybe tehre is a possibility to switch from one project typ to another..? Or have I to create new one?

But maybe someone has a tip for me to change existing projects, without have too much work with authorization settings (this seems very complicated)

Thanks for your help.
Monika

Hey @Monika Mainka

Unfortunately, once a project is created you are unable to change the project type. If you are just trying to make the old gen project private, all you need to do is change the browse project permission in the permission scheme to the correct user, group or project role.

In order to edit the permission scheme, you must be a Jira Administrator.
