Why does issue.reporter in auto email body send reporter ID instead of friendly name?

Under Project Settings > Automation, I created a rule to send an email when a new ticket is created.  In the automated email, I want to show who the Reporter is on the issue. 

However, when I use {{issue.reporter}} in the email body html of the "Then: Send email" step, the email I receive shows the reporter's ID and not the person's first and last name. 

Is there a work around for this? The id is useless.
