I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing this, but the shipped tickets are still showing in my new Sprint in the Team-managed project. Is anyone else experiencing the same? What can I do to stop them from appearing on the board?

When you closed the previous sprint, were the issues in the last column on the board?
If they were not, then they are not considered "done", and hence carry over into the next sprint.
Thank you. I had created a new column "On Hold" and had moved it to the end.
