Why do portfolio scope schedule view show sprint end date as end date for all issues in the sprint?

Vinaykumar Joshi October 24, 2016

When we create a plan, sourced from scrum boards, the issues that are imported on the plan shows the end date as sprint end date. The schedule report view do not show the actual end date when the issue (story/sub-task) will finish. Please note, we are using person days for estimates (and not story points). So why can't Portfolio show the schedule with exact end date when the story/sub-task will finish based on the original/remaining estimates?

Hello,

The reason for this is that your Portfolio team is set to Scrum mode. As a consequence, issues can only be finished at the end of a sprint. There is no rule when an issue has to be implemented during a sprint, thus it is theoretically possible that all issues get done not before the last day of a sprint.

In Kanban mode, issues can be finished daily. Change your team to Kanban and Portfolio will calculate the exact end date.

Best regards,
Kevin
