I have a custom user field. I want to have the current user's name inserted into the field on a particular transition. But when I open the tool, only the "standard" fields are visible. How do I make it see my custom field?

Here's a look at what I am seeing:

Perfect, thanks. I thought I has scooped up all of these plug-ins.

OK, that worked as far as it went.

But now, when performing a transition on a sub-task issue, I want to write a value into a field in the parent Issue.

Is that in a plug in somewhere?

The function you're using doesn't support custom fields. You'll need to use one that does (see what Jobin said)
