Why can't I trash a field without getting an internal server error in a transition?

I deleted the screen associations for the radio button field, but when I trash it, I get the error.  When I restore it, I don't.

If I understand correctly you are saying that

1. You removed the field from some screen.

2. You deleted the field.

3. You attempted to change the status of an issue and got the "Internal server error" message.

4. If you restore the field then you don't get the message when you try to change the status of the issue.

If I have understood that correctly, I suggest that you look at the Validators and Post Functions of the transition to see if either references the field you are deleting.

That worked!  Thank you!

Incidentally, once I had trashed the field, I would have expected to see ??? instead of the field name in the post action.  Perhaps I restored the field, and forgot that I had, before I deleted the post action.  Both fields (the one I wanted and the one I trashed) have the same name.
