Why can't I see issues posted by new team member in my project backlog or sprint planning board?

A new team member is testing and adding issues in Jira. I am emailed about these issues, and I can click to view them in Jira. But they don't appear in the backlog. I can only view them by searching in the "Issues and filters".

I have shown him how I add issues, and he is using the same method: Go to the planning board. Click the plus sign. Enter the details. For me, the issue is now in the backlog, but his is not.

How do I get his issues to show in the backlog?

There is some difference in the issue that means the board is not going to display it.

I would want to take one of their missing issues and compare it with

  • One of your issues which is not missing - apart from the issue key and the creator, what are the differences?
  • The board filter - this can explain why issues are missing
  • The board config - do you have any quick-filters applied?

There are no visible differences.

Where are the links to board filter and board config?
