Why are notifications so subtle and quiet?

Users often miss notifications from Hipchat.   Notification sounds are turned on but the sound is so quiet and subtle that it is often missed.

Can a custom sound be attached to HIPCHAT through a windows theme to make it more difficult to miss?

How can we make the notifications LOUDER or LESS SUBTLE?

Hoe about a pop up window that goes to the center of the screen to make sure it isnt missed?

Hi Geo,

You can set Hipchat notifications by logging to Hipchat from your browser, profile-> Settings-> Notifications

Thanks Carlos - we have set the notification settings.  The PROBLEM is the resulting notifications are difficult to hear.

We are an OEM and there is some ambient noise to consider.  We are looking for a way to make the notifications much louder.

What about setting up text message or push notifications to your phone (there is an option for this too)? Would that work better?
