Why are epic links exported as text but not issue key to Excel file?

Alexey Zagarin January 20, 2015

Hi!

I'm trying to export all issues from JIRA Agile to Excel file for BI analysis and I noticed that all epic links are referenced by names and not issue key. Is it possible to have issue keys for epic links in export instead?

Hello Alexey,

First, make sure you are exporting all fields to excel, so then in Excel you should be able to filter your issues both by name or by Issue Key, as you wish.

These are the steps to export all issue fields to an excel file. You may refer to this link if you need additional information.

  1. Choose Issues > Search for Issues.
  2. Refine your search, as described in “Searching for issues”, then choose the Export menu.
  3. Choose one of the following from the dropdown menu:
    • 'Excel (All fields)'— this will create a spreadsheet column for every issue field (excluding comments).
      • Note: This will only show the custom fields that are available for all of the issues in the search results. For example, if a field is only available for one project and multiple projects are in the search results then that field will not appear in the Excel document. The same goes for fields that are only available for certain issue types.

Regards,

Marlon.
