When attempting to use my license key on Jira install, I get told "An unknown error occured"

"An unknown error occured, please contact support."

I lost my previous Jira installation and ID, so the old license is no longer valid, apparently.

For anyone searching for a solution, I ended up requesting a trial license, then logging into the server and replacing the trial license key with my commercial key.
