I set up the same filter because I they really are working on the same projects, however I didn't expect the velocity or other reports to share info from both teams. Is this the best way to set up a new board or should I be doing something differently?
You could use a different filter on each board, which only includes issues assigned to team members + all unassigned issues (for sprint planning). That way, the reports should give details as expected.
