I have WIP limits set for my Jira Kanban board columns. So if any column exceeds the max WIP limit, a red line indicator displays on top of the column (above the cards and below the column name) indicating that WIP limit exceeded. Is there anyway to display the count by which the WIP limit has exceeded on the column(for instance, if the WIP limit is 5 and say there are 9 cards, I want to display the number 4 somewhere on the board) ?
You should have this in your board view by default. Here's an example of one from my board. The WIP is 3 and the count is 2. I'm using the Cloud version.
