I'm getting this error when trying to import jira data from version 7.0.4 into a running version of 7.12.3
This data appears to be from an older version of Jira. Please upgrade the data and try again. The current version of Jira is at build number '712004', but the supplied backup file was for build number '73010'.
Can you suggest me what to do next?
Thank you,
Tri
Read over the upgrade notes for each dot release between 7.1 and 7.12. (pro-tip: Google search "jira 7.2 upgrade notes" and replace 7.2 with the version you want to search for)
From memory, you need to upgrade to 7.3, and then go you can go directly to 7.12, but that might not be correct. The upgrade notes will say when you need to go to an interim version first.
Adding to @Dave Theodore [Coyote Creek Consulting] 's great info!
We do now maintain a one-stop shop page to help you get the key features and links to detailed release notes: Jira Upgrade Matrix.
