Update layout of a Bug Tracking project

Jean-Charles Touzalin January 10, 2018

Hey there,

I have created a JIRA project with type "Bug Tracking" (formerly Basic Software Development) to keep track of a simple personal to-do list.

I like the simple layout with one column only and the issue details on the right.

However I'd like to add some data on the list of tasks. For now it only displays the type of the issue, its id and its title as you can see on this screenshot: https://puu.sh/yYk5U/b8dcdbb58c.png

I'd like to add the priority and the status. I know it's possible to change what is displayed on the cards in a board but in this type of project there is no board, it's just a list of issues.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot,

JC

I'm afraid the icon/key/summary in the list is a function of the view and you'd have to hack the core code to add fields.

You might find the list view more useful - you don't get the issue view on the right, but you do get a table of issues that you can choose all the columns to view.

Thanks for your answer Nic. How do I access (or activate) the list view then? On a project with type "Bug Tracking" it seems that there only is the view I was referring to earlier. (with a few filters as you can see on this screenshot: https://puu.sh/yYWMN/e88084910c.png)

Unfortunately, you can't swap to a list view in the project reports.  You have to go to "issue search" (the issue navigator) and run the search for open issues (or other) in your project, and then you can swap between a similar view and the list view.

Ok following this steps I end up on this screen with my issues: https://puu.sh/yZ2vD/2e2ec2d223.png

However I have the same problem as earlier, on the left where I can see the list of issues, there is no ways to add more info, like the status or the priority. I can only see these properties on the left side in the details view.

yep. as Nic mentioned it cannot be done w/o code changes.
