I am trying to set the priority of an issue created by a webhook trigger in Jira Automation. The issue is created and all of the data is transferred ,but I get the following error message when trying to set the priority:
Unknown fields set during create, they may be unavailable for the project/type.Check your custom field configuration. Fields ignored - Priority (priority)Issues created successfullyKEY-891
I haven't changed any custom fields or anything, and I can change priority on other issues in Jira. it even gives me the option to set the priority while I'm creating the rule, but shows the error when it executes. Has anyone else had this problem or can steer me in the right direction?
Can you please provide the details of the automation rule?
Are you creating issues in a Team Managed project or Company Managed project? Is it a Software, Business, or Service project?
If you create the same type of issue in the same project manually through the UI, do you see the Priority field in the Create Issue dialog?
Just to confirm, can you provide a screen image of the Create Issue screen in this project showing that you are creating a Bug type issue and it includes the Priority field?
I ask because when I created a vanilla Team Managed Software project the Priority field is not automatically added to the issue types. So I'd like to see confirmation that the Priority field is in fact available on the screen for the specific type of issue you are trying to create in that specific project with Automation.
That would be the screen within your automation rule where you are creating the issue.
I'm talking about the screen you see when you click the Create button in the menu bar and get the Create Issue dialog.
In the rule the list of fields you can choose from to set is not constrained by the fields that are actually available to set when you are manually creating an issue. If the Priority field is not in the Create Issue dialog, then the Automation Rule won't be able to set that field.
