Unable to Build Jira from Source?

Gaurav Srivastava November 17, 2017

I am on Jira 7.5.2, to build a Single Class patch I was trying to first try and build from from source. That is getting stuck at the npm private repo for atlassian stage as it is asking for username and password. Where do I get this npm user name password from?

Then I thought of doing the Single Class Patch thing, I was following this source
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/how-to-make-a-jira-patch-720411929.html

But when I do mvn idea:idea

I am getting error

Downloading from central: https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2/com/atlassian/pom/closedsource-pom/5.0.7/closedsource-pom-5.0.7.pom
[ERROR] [ERROR] Some problems were encountered while processing the POMs:
[FATAL] Non-resolvable parent POM for com.atlassian.jira:jira-project:7.5.2: Could not find artifact com.atlassian.pom:closedsource-pom:pom:5.0.7 in central (https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2) and 'parent.relativePath' points at wrong local POM @ line 3, column 13

Please help me fix this.

Hi Gaurav,

My apologies for this inconvenience.  It appears that Jira's current versions have this known issue in regards to being unable to be complied due to this problem.

There is a documented bug for this in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-66224?

I would recommend watching that bug for updates as to when this might be resolved or for other possible work-arounds should then become available.

Regards,
Andy
