We use different Workflows for different Issuetypes. Every Workflow starts with Status ENTERED. This Status is in the Backlog section. As those different Workflows continue with different Status the Transition per drag & drop to one Selected for Development section does not work. We would need at least a second Selected for Development section to cover all different Workflows. Is this possible somehow?

Can you please let us know if you are using JIRA Cloud or Server? If you are using JIRA Cloud, are you using a Classic or a Next-gen project?
I understand that when you say "sections" you are meaning the columns in your board and you have just a single column called Selected for Development where most your statuses are mapped to.
The problem is: You can not drag & drop your issues between the status if they are mapped in the same column. Have I properly understood the problem?
If I have properly understood it, in a classic project you can create new columns and map your statuses by navigating to your board > clicking in three dots icon > Board settings > Columns:
For a next-gen project, you can add new columns by clicking on the plus button (+):

Thank you for answering. We are using JIRA server. The problem I ment exists in the new Kanban Backlog that we would like to use. In this Backlog we can only drag and drop issues from Backlog with status ENTERED to one section above with status Planned / Accepted. We need another section above to drop issues, which according to the workflow of the issuetype can only be moved to status APPROVED.
