Story view in scrum active sprint

Yaron Azar June 2, 2020

In a new SCRUM development project, there are separate workflows for stories and sub tasks.

Story: Open >> In Progress, >> Review >> QA >> Done

Sub task : Open >> In Progress >> Done.

when all selected story sub tasks are done, and working in active sprint view mode - it's impossible to move story between the defined status (as in the workflow) and just push it to done (reject transition).

Even the story is displayed only as a line and not as a panel - any ideas?

Hello @Yaron Azar

Thank you for reaching out.

Per your description, I understand you are trying to transition the Story (parent issue) by dragging and dropping directly on the board when all the sub-tasks are done. Is that correct?

Checking your screenshot, it seems your board is configured with the Story swimlane. It is expected that your parent Story issues are displayed as a whole line in the board with that setting, not allowing the drag and drop between columns.

That being said, you can allow the drag and drop of the parent story by following one of the steps below:

  1. Click in the Story parent line and change the status in the issue detail view
  2. navigate to the board > Board settings > Swimlanes and set it to none, so the parent issue will be displayed in a single column that you can drag and drop between the statuses.

Let us know if you have any questions.
