Significance of Card Colours?

Searched through the docs, but coming up dry...

Quickly: What's the significance of the various card colours (along the left edge) on the Kanban board? Should be obvious, but it's not.

You can also colour it based on JQL queries. For example if you want to colour Critical bugs in a color you can do so, which may help you in easily differentiating cards.

True, missed that one:-) . But basically it's all just about visual differentiation...

No significance at all. You can map the color to an issue type. That way you can clearly seperate them visually. That's all:-)
