Selecting specific subtask to update using Automation Rule

Yohriza Carreon December 18, 2020

Hi everyone,

I am trying to automate most of the manual work we use for JIRA management.

Here's the scenario:

Rule 1:
When issue type = Story is created
Default subtasks will be created
- Subtask 1
- Subtask 2

Rule 2:
When the Assignee field of the Story from Rule 1 is updated e.g Person1
Subtask 1 and 2 will be automatically assigned to the assigned to Person 1

However, is it possible to specify only Subtask 2 should copy from Story from Rule 1 Assignee is updated?

Thank you for your help :)

Sure that should be possible. You just need to distinguish subtask 2 so that it can be used as a condition for setting the assignee. For example, in your rule to create you could add a label to subtask 2 then check the subtasks as part of rule 2.
