Searching for Boards on second page causes empty result

Hi everybody,

we are running Jira 8.5.1 Data Center and I have found an strange bug/behavior when searching for boards. I get empty results when searching on the second or later pages.

How to reproduce

• Go to board search: https://your-jira.com/secure/ManageRapidViews.jspa
• Go to the second page via the pagination at the bottom
• Then search for a board via the search box
• You get an empty result

When I search for a certain board on the first page, everything works as expected.

Can anyony reproduce this?

I can reproduce this to some degree in our test instance running Jira 8.11.0 (DC) - in my case I can see the same issue on later pages when viewing all boards and going to page 3 or 4 (or 7) > then searching for a board and get no results - yet searching for the same board from the first page I get the result I am looking for.

In another test if I search for a board name that gives me results of multiple pages (e.g. 2 pages of board with 'digital' in the name) and filter when on the second page - on the second page of results is displayed. I can go back to page 1 and see the initial results. If I repeat the same search but start on page 3 I get no results.

The same behaviour occurs in our production instance running 8.7.1.

• Perhaps this is some kind of bug - have you reached out to Atlassian support?
