Resource View to replace Classic Planning Board

Jeff Isenberg October 1, 2012

With the new Rapid Boards we loose the by resource view of the Classic Planning Board. This was a helpful view during sprint planning as we tend to assign issues to the team and use that view for load balancing and making sure no one is over allocated.

Any advice for other ways to visualize the workload (points and/or hours) per assignee?

For now we'd recommend creating a set of quick filters for each team member so you can see what is assigned to them.

Thanks,

We input the same request to GH as we used this Classic Board feature often too. The workaround is ok, but is not long term and it requires ongoing maintenance of the boards as team membership changes and our teams change often due to movement, hiring, etc.

And, as mentioned, teams change...and for us, that would put two lines of quick filters as we have other filters regarding components, versions, and update time frame. The classic board solutions were just much cleaner - drop down of assignees and drown of fixversions.

This works unless you have sub-tasks of an item that are not all assigned to the owner of the parent. The sum of estimates is all attributed to the owner of the parent issue.
