Hi There,

Is it possible to add custom fields/columns on the "Releases" page? If so, what type of fields can be added? 

Also, is it possible to remove any existing fields?

To verify, we're talking about the "Releases" aka "FixVersion" section of a Jira project that's visible via an Agile Board?

Unfortunately, today there is not. We're not able to add custom metadata to the Release entity. It also appears to not be a feature available on the marketplace. A similar question was posed here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Is-there-a-way-to-add-a-custom-field-to-a-version-in-the-cloud/qaq-p/604366.

Depending on what kind of metadata you would like to track, there is a plugin (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218705/release-management-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview) that essentially allows users to add more context to a Release separate from where Release information is stored.
