Project administrator but can't see or add releases

John Stock June 3, 2021

I'm trying to add a release to a project, but the "releases" menu option doesn't show up, even though I'm the project admin.

Per this page:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/advancedroadmapsserver/creating-releases-967895268.html

There should be a releases menu.

Help please!

(I can post screenshots if need be)

Hi John - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Yes, screenshots would be helpful.

Here you go.   Note I'm a project admin, but there's no "releases" menu on the side.

The how-to web page says "in the releases view of the plan..." but I'm not sure what that means.   I'm familiar with how to add releases from the Projects admin page, but that was in a different (non-clould) instance of Jira.

Thanks.

Ah, you are using a Team-managed project. Click on Features and then toggle on the value for Releases.
