Permission to share the project in sample Scrum project

I just started the GreenHopper (installed and licensed) and click on "create a sample project" from Evaluating GreenHopper.... Thought I would "poke around in some sample data..." How do I get permission to share the project? BTW, I logged on as the administrator in JIRA.

Create Project & Scrum Board

  • <button class="item-button" type="submit" disabled="disabled">Create Project & Scrum Board</button>

  • You do not have permission to share with Project: 'Sample Scrum Project'.
  • The user 'James Yu' does not have permission to share with Project: 'Sample Scrum Project'.
<form class="aui"><fieldset>
<label for="name">Project Name</label><input id="ghx-welcome-projectname" class="text" type="text" value="Sample Scrum Project" maxlength="64"/>
<label for="pkey">Project Key</label><input id="ghx-welcome-projectkey" class="text short-field" style="text-transform: uppercase;" type="text" value="SSP" maxlength="64"/>
This is the unique project key. The project key:
* should be short as it is displayed as a prefix on each card;
* cannot be changed once the project is created;
* should not contain sensitive information, as it may be visible to users who do not have permission to view the project.
<label for="lead">Project Lead</label>
<input id="ghx-welcome-projectlead-field" class="text aui-ss-field ajs-dirty-warning-exempt" type="text" value="James Yu"/>
<select id="ghx-welcome-projectlead" class="js-default-user-picker hidden" style="display: none;" multiple="multiple"><option style="background-image: url('http://jira-si/secure/useravatar?size=small&amp;avatarId=10202');" selected="selected" value="jyu">James Yu</option></select>
Start typing to get a list of possible matches.
<fieldset class="group"><legend>Workflow</legend>
<input id="ghx-welcome-workflow-gh" class="radio" type="radio" name="ghx-welcome-workflow" checked="checked"/><label for="ghx-welcome-workflow-gh">GreenHopper Simplified Workflow</label>

<input id="ghx-welcome-sampledata" class="checkbox" type="checkbox" name="sampledata" checked="checked"/><label for="ghx-welcome-sampledata">Fill new project with sample data</label>

Late to the party, but this may be useful for other users: note that you need the Browse Projects permission in the Default Permission Scheme to create a project from JIRA Agile. If in the scheme it's only the Users role that has the browsing permission (which is the default configuration), check JIRA Admin > System > Roles - your account may not be in the role by default.

As Agile can't check for this permission before creating the project (and hence not give the user the option), an error is thrown afterwards.

Transforming Jira Software projects for general project management purposes

...It's true that there are projects in Jira; but they are merely a way to cut off issues, to tell them apart from other sections of work and to apply rules that are specific to that team (the schemes)....
