Next Gen Project setting Epic as Done but still in Backlog

I am using a next gen project and would like to clear out my roadmap from the Epics that have already been completed. 

I know that stories and tasks will clear after 14 days once moved to Done - Is this the same here? 

Is there anyway to "hide" the completed Epics?

in the roadmap view you can choose To Do and In Progress and leave Done off the filter.

Is there a way to have them permanently removed from the Roadmap?

Using the filters this is just a temporary setting.

While I use NG projects in a limited capacity I do not know of any way to do this.
