New UI: Why do I have to see ALL of the boards in a project

Issue: I see all the boards configured for a project I'm working on. Frankly, I don't care about 90% of the boards configured in one of our projects and it a waste of time to scroll through this long list. How do I replicate the functionality in the old jira UI that allows me to only had to see boards I created or other boards I wanted to see? Is it possible to filter the boards drop down to see only those boards I that mean something to my day to day work?
