New Jira Popup View

Since yesterday, when I click on a story "box" in JIRA, it doesn't open in the side window on the right... it opens the story in a popup window.  Is it doing that for you?  If so, did we make a change?

the challenge is some of our fields were only available to us to update from the side panel

Hi Summer,

What you are seeing is the "New Issue View" popup, there is not a global option to enable or disable this feature so it should have needed to be enabled by the option in the user profile settings, but could have been flagged on an update to the instance.

If you would like to disable the functionality, you can go to your profile image in the lower left and select  "Personal Settings":

Then the Option is flagged here:

But do keep in mind that this functionality is currently a labs feature in active development but the UI is in the process of moving towards this as the native look and feel for the cloud platform and eventually the option to disable this will be removed once the features are fully dialed in.  Make sure to keep an eye on this story and the issues linked to it for updates on our current progress on this feature, and also please feel free to add a coment to any of the features to provide any feedback you have:
