Modify project of the sub-task

Yury Nahshan November 18, 2013

Our team is working on several projects in same time so we are using same backlog and board for all our projects. Some times we need to define user story which is involve several projects i.e. one project input should use output of the other.

In this case we define Story for this issue and split it for several sub tasks which should be assigned for different developers and projects.

My question:

1.Is it possible to add a project field to the sub task in order to modify it for each sub taskdifferently?

2. Is it possible to assign multiple projects to the same story?

Hi Yury,

A sub task from a Story must be created in the same Project as the Story. And a Story can only be in one project.

You could create a custom field of the type Project Picker to make the association between a sub task and a Project.

You can also use Epics to combine different stories and issues across different projects.

Best regards,

Peter

An issue always belongs to ONE project. You could, however, add a project (picker) custom field to your stories to indicate other projects are involved.
