Migrate old version 10 users license to new version

t_soko June 15, 2021

Hi,

we are planing to upgrade from jira software version 8.3 to 8.13. Our current instance on premises uses a 10 users licence. We want the new version 8.13 to be also on premisses with the 10 users licence. Given that it is no more possible to buy a server licence (since 2/2/2021), can we use our current licence deployed on 8.3 on the new instance 8.13 ?

Thank you for your help

Hi @t_soko and welcome to the community,

An upgrade doesn't mean you need to buy a new license, the old one should still work with the new version.

If you have been paying your maintenance fees, you should also be able to go to my.atlassian.com and after login you'll see your licenses that you can use.

Buying a new server license would mean setting up a whole new system and purchasing a license when you have none.
