Many additional workflows created by agile boards

Steve Lane April 18, 2014

Hello all:

In our Jira we now have many workflows more than we used to, with names like SFPA: Simple Issue Tracking Workflow. It appears that somehow the creation of agile boards is spawning all these new workflows, which I doubt actually differ from one another.

Is there some guidance we can follow so these don't all get created?

Thanks,

Steve Lane

It's from JIRA agile and allows the board owner to manipulate the workflow without being a JIRA admin. If you're looking for more "templaty" ways of creating projects from a standard - there are a couple of addons on the marketplace - including ours: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.wittified.jira.project-creator

Hi Steve,

these workflow are automatically created if you select SIMPLE ISSUE TRACKING on project creation. If you want to avoid that please select "JIRA Classic" as project template.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Thanks, Fabio. It seems very odd to think that "simple issue tracking" equates to "a new workflow for every project." I'm sure you're right but it still seems very counter-intuitive.
