Link from adding Slack Thread to Jira ticket sometimes disappears, anybody know why?

I have been using these instructions: https://rb.gy/br0wqy to link my Slack threads to Jira tickets but sometimes I go back into the Jira ticket and the thread link is gone. We just started using this last week and I have had it happen at least 3 times. Anybody have this happen? Anybody know why it happens?
