Hi @Subramaniam Vikramm and welcome to Community.
The documentation for Jira 7.4 includes instructions for app compatibility checks, and dates from 2018, so I would venture a guess that this has been present for a long time.
Do you have a Server instance with an old version that you need to update? Check out this directory with links to the documentation for older versions if you need to update your instance in multiple steps: https://confluence.atlassian.com/alldoc/jira-documentation-directory-71598773.html
Hello Laura Campbell
I never expected for Quick Response :-)
Thanks you soo much Laura.
We are using Jira and confluence from 2015 in our Organization.
Now our current version of Jira is v8.20.22 and we are planning to upgrade to v8.20.25 due current CVE-2022-25647 - JSM
Here is my stupid doubt !! till date we are comparing the plugin matrix manually in release notes provided by the Atlassian community and now we are upgrading the same but i had gone through the document which I have shared in my previous comment, anyway we are paying for the 3rd party apps so we have to upgrade it at any cost.
please refer below.
(status part its Incompatible and in Details Your apps are incompatible with the new version. Action: Disable all incompatible apps before you proceed with the upgrade.
does it really need to check this option for the status part? it means JIRA update check
personally I feel this option would be time saving in short notice for the upgrade plan. like eg. CVE-2022-25647 and zero down time impact etc.,,
kindly help me on this Laura Campbell
Thanks :-)

I don't know all the details of the CVE you mentioned. If you don't want to disable the apps marked as incompatible, you should still be able to update, but the apps may or may not work correctly. But you mentioned that you are paying for them and will upgrade them, so everything should be okay. What exactly is your concern with the upgrade plan?
