JIRA server has to be restarted every 5 days to clear cache memory

yogita chhaya December 10, 2017

We have JIRA 6.4.11 installed.

The physical RAM is 24GB

No. of  issues-65,000, no of projects-200

JIRA server has to be restarted every 6 days. Cache is cleared after doing this.

Can i clear cache manually by giving any command?

Is there any other way of solving this problem?

Regards,

Hello,

We had about the same Jira instance with similair number of projects and issues ( Jira 6.4.5 version) with 16Gb physical RAM and we did not have to clear the cache. Everything wroked fine. I think something is wrong with your instance. You should find the root of the problem. What is exactly wrong with your cache? Try to analize your plugins. Maye be some of your plugins cause the issue.

A few months ago, we experienced having to restart JIRA every 4 days because a third party plugin was leaving too many files open.

We fixed it by upgrading the addon to a higher version which fixed it.

May you post here the list of user-installed addons?
