JIRA permission to browse only certain users

Thorsten Schmitt _demicon_ March 30, 2020

We would like to restrict the user browse for a customer to a certain group of users. The specific group has been set under Global Permissions with the "Browse Users" permission. Unfortunately this will browse all users and not just the group.

Is there a way for users to browse only the users in the group?

Thanks for the information

Hello @Thorsten Schmitt _demicon_

Thank you for reaching out.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to restrict the "Browse Users" global permission to only allow the browsing of users in Specific groups.

We clearly understand how useful this feature would be to keep the privacy of the user contact and also avoid mistakes when mentioning these users, so we created the following feature request to get this implemented:

Browse Users permission configurable to restrict the browsing of users to specific groups

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

For now, only the permission restriction of the users in the specific issue they are supposed to be mentioned will prevent their users from being browsed.
