We have JIRA hosted on our server. JIRA is configured to use our Mandrill mail server. We can send test e-mails, but when inviting users an e-mail is not sent - what do we need to do?

I found the answer! Outgoing mail was disabled! Thanks.

Thank you for letting me know. When you said you had set up email configuration already I incorrectly assigned that meant outgoing email was on. But that indeed would have been the issue! :D

Hi Shubash,
I recommend that you add the Jira email logging protocol. This way, once you apply and restart Jira, you can see what's happening to those missing emails.
